Astor Neighborhood Association Board Members
I’d like to take a moment to introduce myself as one of the newest board members of the Astor Neighborhood Association. My name is Ron Dehn and I moved into the neighborhood in June of 2014 when we purchased our home at 1010 S. Jackson Street. I am a UWGB alumnus, with a bachelor in Interdisciplinary Studies; I have worked most of my adult life here in Green Bay. I have spent most of my time in service industries, with an emphasis in food and beverage, followed by sales and distribution of various products and services. I am currently a technical representative for P&G Proline which is focused primarily on Hospitality and Healthcare laundry systems.
I joined the ANA board in the hopes of gaining firsthand knowledge of what it takes to preserve an historic neighborhood, as well as the challenges we face in doing so. I also hope to get personally involved in local projects within our community. This is my first run as a board member in a neighborhood association, and I look forward to making a positive difference within our neighborhood.
Biography coming soon.
Hello! My name is Jennifer Lenz, and my husband Tyler and I moved to the neighborhood in the summer of 2012. We purchased the white Victorian on the corner of S. Jackson Street and Cass Street. Since then, we have been very busy working on our house! Several neighbors have told us how happy they are that we have moved in, due to the fact that the house was vacant for a few years before we came along. We are the happy ones to have moved into such a welcoming neighborhood! I look forward to serving my neighborhood as a member of the ANA Board.
Hello! My husband Scott and I moved to the neighborhood in June of 2011. We were drawn to the character and uniqueness of the historic district, central location to community events and our home’s charm. I am a Green Bay native, graduate of UW- Green Bay and work for the Department of Transportation. You will frequently see me running through the neighborhood over to the Fox River Trail or cooking something healthy in the kitchen. I am very excited to serve on the Astor Neighborhood Association board because I believe we live in Green Bay’s finest neighborhood and want to contribute to our community.
My name is Kathleen Johnson and although I have been active in the Astor community for many years, I just recently became a resident in one of our historical homes.
I founded an ongoing community group project called George’s Secret Elves and do projects for this all year long with many other secret elves. I am blessed to live with a pair of beautiful hearted people which includes my daughter and mother who get to enjoy the home and Astor area with me. We are a family of animal lovers and are excited to meet as many happy neighbors as we can, hopefully through a dog park in the Astor Park area someday. I love my jobs at the YMCA and also as the Nursery Director at Union Congregational Church (both for many years). I am an avid volunteer on many community projects, and had been at one time on the Aldo Leopold School Board for 4 years, as well as being the lead staff for the After School program there for 6 years.
Paying it forward with a smile is definitely a motto I live by and am always amazed at what can take place when big hearted people work together. I am looking forward to being “the think outside the box type person” on the Astor Neighborhood Association board.
I live with my spouse Ron at 1010 S. Jackson St., a home we purchased from a former Astor Neighborhood Association President. I have been involved in downtown revitalization since 1995, when I was elected to the Board of Directors for Neighborhood Housing Services, now NeighborWorks Green Bay. Soon after I was hired as the Program Manager and help many new homeowners purchase in the Astor Neighborhood. I still serve on that Board. Shortly after I joined the Navarino Neighborhood Association and served as president for many years. I work as a Business Development Officer for Wisconsin Housing and Economic Development Authority. Keeping neighborhoods viable and community connectedness is important to me, which is why I joined the ANA. I look forward to serving our neighborhood.
Hello and thanks for visiting the ANA website. My wife Natalie and I moved into our house on Clay Street in 2000. Shortly after that, I was recruited to take over and build the ANA website. Technology has come a long way since then, and I am happy to provide a brand new website for the Neighborhood Association. I recently joined the ANA Board to make sure that I am able to keep the website updated with all the current Association activity.
I hope to see you around the neighborhood.
Please check the events page for the date and time of our next board meeting. All residents of the Astor Neighborhood are welcome and encouraged to participate!
If you are interested in becoming a board member, please come to a meeting or contact any board member above.
